The Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Awka, Anambra State capital, has upheld the election of Ifeanyi Ibezi, member representing Idemili North/South Federal Constituency of the state.
Obinna Chidoka of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had dragged Ibezi of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) to the tribunal, seeking the nullification of his election on the ground of multiple voting and non-compliance with electoral laws.
The judgement, read by Justice R. Irele Ifijeh and Justice O.O. Odubanjo of the tribunal, held that the petitioner was unable to prove that results he presented before the tribunal were generated during the election.
