Nasarawa state governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, has confirmed the appointment of acting Vice Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Professor Suleiman Bala Mohammed as the substantive Vice Chancellor.
In a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the university, Comrade Abraham Ekpo, it said the Secretary to the Government of Nasarawa State, Barrister Mohammed Hassan Abdullahi, who signed the appointment letter on behalf of the Visitor to the university and Governor Al-Makura described the appointment as well deserved and timely.
The appointment letter reads: “Following the outcome of your interview for the position of Vice Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi and sequel to the recommendation of the Governing Council of the University and the exercise of the power conferred on the visitor of NSUK and Governor of Nasarawa State, via paragraph 4 (1) of the first schedule of law establishing NSUK 2001 His Excellency Governor, Umaru Tanko Al Makura approved your appointment as Vice Chancellor of Nasarawa State University Keffi.”
According to the statement, the appointment takes effect from April 3, 2019 adding that it was for a single term of five years.
It added that the Vice Chancellor’s remuneration and allowances shall be in accordance with the approved salary structure of the university and agreed terms and conditions.
