Host school, Akpur College on Saturday defeated Pa Andiir Special Science Academy 1-0 to win the maiden edition of Flight Transport Gboko All Secondary Schools football tournament.
The only goal of the match was scored by the captain of Akpur College, Pila Ushahemba in the first half of the match.
To reach the finals, PA Andiir SS Academy defeated Gboko High school 1-0 while Akpur College defeated Tofi Memorial Secondary School 2-1 in the second semi-final match.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, the proprietor of the victorious school, Sir Ukor Ayem appreciated Flight Transport Company for using his school as the venue of the competition.
While pledging his continued support for the tournament, Ayem said all the schools that took part in the competition were winners.
In his remarks, the Chief Executive of Flight Transport Dr. Akor Andiir Gur who was represented by Operations Manager of the company, Terhemba Rex Yongo congratulated all the schools that participated in the tournament.
He expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the participants and promised to make the tournament an annual event.
Andiir also called on the state government and all football stakeholders in Benue to invest in youth football development.
