Akeredolu warns new commissioners against marrying new wives

Ondo State Governor Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN) has sworn in his commissioners with a charge to them to stop frivolities and  acquisition of   new wives.

Akeredolu, who swore in 18 commissioners and 10 special advisers in Akure yesterday, said his government inherited a debt of more than N220bn, yet will still have to borrow to keep the government running.

“The picture is not good. Therefore, all acts with the potential of pushing us deeper into economic crisis must be jettisoned. We earnestly promise to provide the needed leadership,” he said.

He promised to always be accountable to the people saying it is better when people know the truth because they show better understanding.

“We expend virtually all allocations and the insignificant revenue generated internally on recurrent expenditure. The internally generated revenue is very low. The huge debts owed by the state have been worsened by infrastructural deficit on ground. Yet we strive to discharge our obligations to creditors whose exactions on our very poor revenue militate, significantly, against planning,” Akeredolu said.

He however promised that his government will do all possible to ensure that the promises made to the people were delivered.
