Some aggrieved chieftains of the Osun State chapter of the APC have petitioned the party’s National Chairman, Chief Odigie-Oyegun over alleged alteration of the original list used for the local government and ward executive officers who would serve as delegates in the coming APC primaries in the state.
The aggrieved chieftains operating under the aegis of Osun APC Progressive Group made available to journalists in Lagos, copies of the 95-page petition.
The petition, jointly signed by Caleb Ojo, Rotimi Bidmus, Prof. Remi Ajala and seven other leaders of the party, asked the party’s national leadership “to act swiftly” to avoid the repeat of the loss suffered in the 2017 Osun West Senatorial District election.
“Twenty three out of the 30 local government areas of Osun State were affected by the heinous alteration of ward and local government executive officers of APC who were produced in the 2014 congress in the state. A total of 116 out of 332 wards were affected,” part of the petition read.
The petitioners also alleged that 912 ward executives “were illegally inserted and out of the insertions, 857 are holding substantive positions.”
