The African Tour has unveiled its plan to establish a golf academy in Imo State.
The tour disclosed this during a Press briefing at the Arsenal Golf Club in Owerri ahead of its tournament Tagged “South-East Shoot Out” which started yesterday and will end on 15th of June 2019.
The poor state of the game of golf in Nigeria most especially in the South-Eastern part of the country, is the reason the tour deemed it fit to groom the younger generations in the game.
“It is sad that our government here does not promote and invest in this sport that can help boost its economy and create jobs and also serve as a source of income to the youths of this nation”.
“One good thing about our academy is that it’s going to be absolutely free’ and we are establishing the golf Academy for our prospective students without them paying any penny to learn and play the game.
“All they have to do is find their way down to the Arsenal Golf course here in Owerri, Feeding is also guaranteed for the Academy players,” The African Tour assured.
