AEA trains 245, gives Starter-Packs to 97

The Abuja Enterprise Agency has distributed Start Up kits to 97 trainees of the 245 trained in various skills by the agency between July and November.

At the presentation ceremony agencies headquarters in Abuja recently, the Managing Director of the agency Muhammed Arabi Tukur said between 2015 and now, the Enterprise has supported over 75, 450 individuals and businesses (90% Youths)  with business clinics, access to finance, counselling , sensitization , workspace and market linkages.

“The agency has also supported  31,000 rural entrepreneurs in 160 communities with capacity building trainings  access to finance , provision of equipment and support in critical areas.” He said.

Arabi said the agency will continue to give business adversary advice to the who just concluded their vocational skills training for the next 48 months.

The Minister of the FCT Malam Muhammed Musa  who was represented by  his chief of staff, Bashir Mai-Bornu said  through the AEA, it has continue to fund free training for MSMEs, towards building their capacity.

“ It is in line with this that we are presenting Starter packs today to 97 beneficiaries who participated in the Skills Acquisition and vocational raining Programs in the areas of Carpentry, Confectionary, Leather Work, Planning and Beauty & Spa.”

He said Nigerians are known as possessing an uncanny entrepreneurial spirit that has seen them succeed even on a global scale. He urged the beneficiaries make the best use of the skills they acquired.

Mrs Nkechi Chidi Uka said was part of the training in the confectionary category. She even though she was already doing business before earlier, the training has helped her a lot. “I was baking cake in my small corner but during the training, I was taught how to make other pastries. I was also taught how to give a corporate look and brand my business. I have also learnt to carve a niche for myself” she said.
