After winning a bronze medal at the World Wrestling Championship, Odunayo Adekuoroye hit Brazzaville venue of the ongoing All Africa Games with a promise to retain her gold medal.
She also promised to train harder in other to improve drastically and match up with female world champions before the next world wrestling championship.
The 2015 world bronze medalist expressed appreciation to God for giving her the strength to excel at the championship.
“It is not by my power neither was it by my strength but God that show mercy. God took control of the match between the I and the Chinese but I had to put effort in other to complement the grace of God,” she said.
Adekuoroye who fell victim of Sofia Mattson (SWE) pin fall technique noted that the championship has opened her eyes to the adjusted modalities in the sport wrestling.
Odunayo Adekuoroye yesterday joined other 20 wrestlers in Congo to defend the title won in 53kg against Senegalese Isabelle SAMBOU at the Africa Wrestling Championship in Egypt.
The Africa Champions said with the experienced gathered at the world championship, she will apply them at the All Africa Games.
