Aggrieved APC governorship aspirants in Adamawa State said they are confident the disputed primary election that produced Governor Muhammadu Jibrilla will be cancelled.
The primary elections committee headed by retired Major General Tijjani Jibrin, had declared Jibrilla as candidate amid protest by other aspirants, Nuhu Ribadu and Mahmud Halilu who insisted that election did not hold in the state.
Speaking to Daily Trust on Monday, the spokesman of Nuhu Ribadu, Ibrahim Usman, said they were awaiting the decision of the national secretariat of the party.
He stated that their campaign had filed their petition challenging the conduct of the election after accusing the party executives of colluding with government officials to manipulate the primaries.
Also in a chat with our reporter, a member of Halilu’s campaign team, Ibrahim Waziri welcomed the constitution of appeal committee, saying he was hopeful Jibrilla’s victory would be reversed.
