At the end of the meeting, the governor left (at 5:03pm) without talking to State House Correspondents who were waiting for him to speak on where his loyalty lay.

Daily Trust reports that since the emergence of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as the standard bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), there have been issues over the loyalty of the governor.

Atiku, who is to slug it out with President Muhammadu Buhari, hails from Adamawa State and was until his defection to PDP, a key player in the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Recall that the governor defeated Mahmud Halilu, the brother of the president’s wife, Aisha Buhari, in the just concluded governorship primaries of the APC in Adamawa State.

Similarly, Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State has met behind closed doors with President Buhari at the State House.

Amosun, who was struggling to get the APC governorship ticket of Ogun State for his preferred candidate, Adekunle Akinlade, also left the Villa without speaking to pressmen.
