ABU students tour Berger’s Abuja highway project

Students of the Civil Engineering Department of the Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria, Kaduna State have toured A section of the Abuja-Kaduna highway rehabilitation project being constructed by Julius Berger Nigeria PLC.

Led by Mr Akura Stephen, the postgraduate students of the university toured the entire Section 2 of the project for two days. They lauded the company for the steady pace of the project.

Julius Berger, in a statement issued by Emmanuel Isibor, Media Liaison Officer, said the students appreciated the company for the opportunity made available to them to take away “some new knowledge in practical construction work.”

The project’s Site Manager, Engr. Kamal Kaawachi, while conducting the students round the project explained that novel and precision technology was deployed by the company to deliver excellent quality projects on schedule.

“The students saw the cold mixing plant which is a new technology introduced into the construction industry in Nigeria by Julius Berger, and the site laboratory where technical integrity tests are conducted on site,” he said.
