ABU joins SSANU’s strike

The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria chapter has joined the 3-day warning strike declared by the national body of the union.
Acting chairman of the branch, Shuaibu Halilu, made this known during a peaceful protest at the ABU main campus on Tuesday.
Halilu said ABU’s branch has decided to join the strike following the federal government refusal to obey a court order on the reinstatement of sacked teachers of universities’ staff school.
Other grievance of the union, according to him, is the non-payment of N8billion earned allowances by the government months after the federal government has released about N23 billion for the academic staff.
