No fewer than 74 candidates from different political parties would contest for the National Assembly seats in Ebonyi state.
This was contained in the list of political parties displayed at the notice board of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the three senatorial districts of the state
Daily Trust observed that 47 out of the candidates were for House of Representative while 27 are for Senate seats.
Among the political parties the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressives Congress have 6 candidates respectively for house of representative seats and 3 for senate.
Other parties in the race were United Progressives Party, (UPP) Legacy Party (LP), Progressive Peoples’ Alliance (PPA), Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN), Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) and others.
The list, Sen. Sam Egwu for (PDP) and Chief Mathias Adum of the APC would battle it out for Ebonyi North senatorial seat.
Also, Sen. Obinna Ogba of the PDP would also battle it out in the poll with Sen. Julius Ali-Ucha for Ebonyi Central, while Chief Michael Ama Nnachi PDP will also face Chief Prince Onunweze of the APC for Ebonyi South senatorial zone.
In House of Representative, Hon. Nshi Uchenna Mbam of APC and will slot it out with Hon. Sylvester Ogbaga for Abakaliki/Izzi constituency, Hon. Nwazunku Chukwuma of the PDP and Hon. Peter Ogoali of APC would also battle for Ebonyi/Ohankwu constituency.
Hon. Michael Ifere of the APC would also battle for Ezza North/Ishielu constituency with Hon. Anayo Edwin of the PDP.
Also, Comrade Chinedu Ogah of APC and the PDP candidate Hon. Lazarus Ogbea will feature for Ezza North/Ishielu constituency in the poll.
Hon. Festus Ifesinachi of APC and Hon. Livinus Mike of the PDP would stand for Ohanzara/Onicha/ Ivo constituency while Hon. Idu Igariwey of PDP and Hon. Anthony Eko will feature for APC.
