Abia Senate seat: Orji to know fate October 13

The National Assembly Elections Petitions Tribunal sitting in Umuahia has fixed October 13, 2015, for judgment on the petition filed by Ahamdi Nweke of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) challenging the victory of Chief Theodore Orji as Senator of Abia Central zone.
Justice Adeniyi Onigbanjo, chairman of the tribunal, fixed the date yesterday, after the parties adopted their written addresses.
In adopting the written address, counsel to Nweke, Gordy Uche, raised two issues which he said were not included in the address including allegation of corruption in the election and failure of the 2nd respondent to file his submission within the allotted time.
But counsel to Orji, Wole Olanipekun, urged the tribunal to dismiss the petition, saying that it lacked merit and substance.
