A former Head of State, retired General Abdulsalami Abubakar, has urged Nigerians to continue to pray to God to completely heal President Muhammadu Buhari to enable him continue to effectively govern the country.
Speaking with newsmen after the Eid prayers at the Minna praying ground yesterday, Gen Abdulsalami also urged Nigerians to intercede for the former military president, retired General Ibrahim Babaginda, who is currently receiving treatment in Germany.
Our correspondent reports that the former military president left for Germany before President Buhari returned from London.
While expressing happiness for the safe return of President Buhari, Abdusalami called for concerted prayers for both over their health.
He also enjoined Nigerians to shun all divisive tendencies, adding that no country could develop in an atmosphere of rancor.
Governor Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello and his deputy, Ahmad Muhammad Ketso, were absent from the praying ground as they were said to have traveled out of the state.
The Speaker, House of Assembly, Ahmed Marafa Guni, who represented the governor, appealed to people of the state to be patient with the All Progressives Congress (APC) -led administration in the state, saying government was striving relentlessly to provide the dividends of democracy for the people.
Among dignitaries at the Minna praying ground were a former governor, Dr. Muazu Babangida Aliyu, the Emir of Minna, Alhaji Umar Farruk Bahago and some members of the State Executive Council.
