The police in Borno State yesterday confirmed the release of two children abducted from their schools last week.
This followed the arrest of the suspected kidnappers by operatives of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad.
The four-year-old son of the state chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Ali Bukar Dalori and the other APC chieftain’s eight-year-old son were separately abducted from their schools in Maiduguri.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Damian Chukwu, told newsmen that four persons were arrested over the abductions.
“In the recent days, we have cases of kidnap syndicate and subsequent demand for a ramson of N20 million, we mobilised our team of F-SARS personnel for possible rescue of the victims, on September 21, we arrested one Mohammed Shehu Musa and Muktar Goni Shuaibu in Kano.
“It was the father of the abducted son that took the money to a certain place. As he was moving the tracking device monitoring him until his final destination, after they received the money from him our men arrested them and ordered them to calls their accomplices,” he said.a
