‘Abaji-Rubochi road for completion soon’

The rehabilitation of the 10.2km Abaji-Rubochi road by the FCT Satellite Towns Development Department (STDD) will soon be completed, Mr. Ishaku Tanko Yamawo, the Coordinator of STDD has said.
Yamawo, who supervised the project this week, said he was impressed with the level of work done though it was still in the rainy season.
He said the contractor, Messrs Sahabi Liman and Sons Ltd., had worked hard to take the project to about 70 per cent completion, having done earth works, side drains and asphalt.
The coordinator explained that Abaji-Rubochi road was constructed in the 80s and had deteriorated over time, thereby subjecting residents to hardships.
He said the FCT Minister, Hon. Muhammad Musa Bello, was passionate about the satellite towns and would continue to do everything possible to alleviate the suffering of the people.
Yamawo said the work, which commenced on May 22, 2018, would be completed as soon as the rains subsided and appealed to the people to cooperate with the contractor and the department to serve them better.
