78 CBT centres ready for JAMB in Lagos

The coordinator of the Joint Admissions Matriculation Board (JAMB) in Lagos state, Babatunde Bamisaye on Tuesday disclosed that the 78 accredited Computer Based Test (CBT) centres in the state are fully prepared and ready for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

The board had fixed April 11, 2019 for the UTME while it scheduled April 1, 2019 for the mock exam nationwide.

Bamisaye during an interview at the matriculation ceremony at Federal College of Education (FCE), Akoka in Yaba said, “We have gone to visit some of the centres in Lagos, they are technically fit for the exam and the personnel are on ground. We are ready for the exam.”

He however emphasized that all items prohibited by the Board should not be brought to the examination premises to avoid sanction.

The board had said that Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cards, wristwatches, recorders, earpieces, mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, smart lenses, erasers, smart buttons and spy reading glasses, among others are prohibited from the examination hall.

He further warned parents against following their wards to the CBT premises, saying their presence adds no value to the writing of the exam, rather it hinders its success.

“All they need do is get their children/wards ready for the exam and make provision for their mobility to their various centres,” he stressed.
