The World Bank’s Community and Social development Project in Katsina has disbursed N58m to seven communities for the execution of micro projects in their respective areas.
The benefiting communities are Pawwa and Mabai in Kankara LGA, Kabomo and Layin Rama in Bakori LGA, Majan Gobir in Rimi LGA and Raddawa and Machika in Mani LGA.
Arewa Trust reports that the micro projects to be executed include construction and renovation of class rooms, clinics, drilling of boreholes, construction of drains as well as construction and rehabilitation of rural roads.
Speaking at the pre-disburement training and presentation of cheques, the Acting General Manager of CSDP, Mohammed Abdulaziz, said the aim of the training was to enlighten the communities on standard procedures of executing the projects.
He said, it is expected that all communities to abide by rules and guidelines of World bank in carrying out the projects.
He thanked the state governor Aminu Masari for making available counterpart fund to enable the state take part in the project.
Responding on behalf of the benefiting communities, Aliyu Mabai assured of their readiness to abide by all regulations towards executing the projects.
