“On receipt of the information, operatives of FSARS and the command mobilized quickly and went to the scene. On sighting the operatives, the robbers took to their heels but luck ran against two of them, Joseph Paul Aji and Ekpemandu Kingsley, who were arrested at the scene.

“All the stolen items, including their operational motorcycle, a Sinoki Supra motorcycle, registration number KJA 342 QH, were recovered at the scene,” he said.

Edgal said that during interrogation, the suspects confessed to the crime and led operatives to their hideout where other members of the gang were arrested.

Those arrested are Abraham Emmanuel, Joseph Paul Aji, Nathaniel Emmanuel Nath, Samuel Gabriel, Ekpemandu Kingsley, Adamu Salisu and Abdulazeez Garba and Mahmud Usman.

He said that exhibits recovered from them included one cut-to-size locally-made single-barrel gun, one live cartridge, one plier, Army camouflage T-shirt and cap, pair of military boots, assorted charms and the Sinoki Supra motorcycle.
