6 arrested over armed robbery, house breaking in Gombe

The Gombe State Police Command has arrested six suspects over alleged armed robbery and trespass.
The command’s spokesperson, DSP Obed Mary Malum stated this in a statement issued to newsmen yesterday in Gombe.
She said the first two principal suspects, Mohammed Jarmai of Tudun Wada quarters and Usman Yerima, 26, aka Seaman, of Nasarawa quarters of the metropolis, both ex-convicts perfected the crime while serving jail term at the Gombe Central Prison yard.
According to the statement, the ex-convicts allegedly conspired with Adamu Suleiman, 21, of Kwadon town of Yamaltu Deba LGA; Ali Shuaibu, 25, aka Ali Mazaje of Bolari quarters; Mohammed Lauwali, 52, and Usman Mohammed, 43 and broke into an electronic store in Gombe.
DSP Malum said the suspects were arrested on September 2 by the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS) over a case of criminal conspiracy, armed robbery, house breaking and receiving stolen properties.
She added that investigation revealed that all the suspects conspired and broke into ASA Electronics at the Gombe Main Market, tied up the guards and carted away two motorcycles, electronic devices and mobile phones.
Malum said intelligence gathered based on credible information led to the arrest of the six suspects who she said have since confessed to the crime.
