Up North
A movie you should definitely make time to see this season is Tope Oshin’s Up North. It focuses is focused on northern Nigeria and telling stories of others beside Lagos. Inspired by the producers journey around the country, it tells the story of Bassey who goes to Bauchi for his NYSC for disobeying his father, starring Banky W, Rahama Sadau, Adesua Etomi, Kanayo O. Kanayo and many other big names in the business.
Chief Daddy
Chief daddy proves to be both a great mix of comedy and drama, it’s a perfect Christmas watch. It revolves around a billionaire patriarch, Chief Daddy, who suddenly dies, leaving a lot of drama for his extended family and mistresses for their claim to his fortune. The movie stars Nkem Owoh, RMD, Joke Silva, Falz, Ini Edo and so many more that make up the ensemble cast.
Heaven On My Mind
Produced by Nollywood divas, Ini Edo and Uche Jombo who also star in the movie as the wives of the polygamous Ben Parker, this guilty pleasure of a movie follows the drama and uproar that ensues when he decides to take another wife.
Power of 1
Izu Ojukwu’s movie was partly inspired by the life of superstar, 2Baba and using his music for social justice and activism which in turn, causes dangerous repercussions for him and his family. 2Baba’s wife, Annie Idibia stars in the movie as well, with AlexxEkubo, Ramsey Nouah and Jide Kosoko.
Kasala!
The Ema Edosia movie, starring Jide Kosoko, Gabriel Afolayan, Mike Afolarin and Chimezie Imo follows the day in the life of four men who try to beat the clock in solving a problem using every way possible. It’s the perfect flick for the guys and has come out just in time for the holidays.
