3 young scientists get federal scholarships

The federal government has granted full scholarship up to Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) level to three young scientists who came top at the 2018 Young Nigerian Scientists Presidential Award Competition.

President Muhammadu Buhari disclosed this while declaring open the Technology and Innovation Expo 2019 in Enugu, a statement from the Ministry of Science and Technology said yesterday.

Buhari, represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr. Boss Mustapha commended the creativity and competitive spirit of the successful candidates- Okeke favour Obianuju from the Federal Capital Territory, Fafemi Fisayo Daniel from Kwara State and Joshua John Mark from Akwa Ibom State who emerged first, second and third respectively.

Earlier, the Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu had said that the present administration is moving Nigeria to a new direction of a knowledge-based economy that is innovation driven.
