214 pupils get classrooms after schooling under tree for 5 years

The classrooms built under the Millennium Development Goals programme by Gombe state and the Federal Government which was sited in the area by the state government, will according to the pupils’ teacher, Fansala Apollos, protect them against the elements they had been coping with for the past five years.
“When it rains, we dismiss them because we didn’t have the classrooms where we could keep them,” Apollos said.
During the commissioning of the classrooms, the Emir of Deba, Alhaji Abaubakar Waziri Mahdi, told the people of the community to fulfil their own part of the bargain by sending their wards to school.
Senior Special Adviser to the President on Millennium Development Goal, Precious Kalamba Gbeneol, said though it’s the state that decides where to site MDG projects, the federal government is giving priority to North Eastern states that are left behind in achieving the Millennium Development Goals.
