2019: Southern Borno vows to shed ‘second-fiddle’ status

The Southern Borno Senatorial District in Borno State has vowed to shed its “second-fiddle” status in the 2019 governorship election.

The zone has been confined to producing the Deputy Governor.

The Chairman of the Southern Borno Movement for Rotation of Power, Engineer Ibrahim Usman, at the maiden Southern Borno Leadership Summit in Maiduguri noted that “We have vowed to consign that position to history this time around and we are not joking about this.”

According to him, the zone is resolutely calling for power shift and that the political parties should pick their Borno governorship candidates from the zone, as they have capable people who can take over the mantle of leadership of the state.
