A fashion runway show dedicated to showcase the beauty of the ‘Plussize’ or endowed Africans is expected to hold in Lagos, on December 8, 2019.
Speaking in Lagos, the founder of Plussize Fashion Week Africa and Creative Director of JPKouture By Hadassah, Temi Aboderin-Alao, said preparations are in top gear for this year’s edition of Plussize Fashion Week holding at the Traffic Bar and Restaurant in Ikoyi, Lagos.
She noted that this year’s event will be mind blowing as new things would be explored while the models too would be brought closer to the audience. “We want to take the way of the New York Fashion Week,” she said.
Aboderin-Alao added that the plussize movement is not a celebration of obesity, but a celebration of confidence; encouraging healthy lifestyle.
“We don’t encourage people to keep growing big but to embrace a healthy lifestyle. We are promoting body positivity, encouraging people to be the happiest version of who they are,” she said.
The Plussize Fashion Week Africa, opening for the third edition in Lagos and powered by Shiloh Abraham Ltd – an international and UK based fashion agency, is the only fashion runway dedicated to Plussize designers, models and apparels.
According to Aboderin-Alao, who is also the CEO of Golden Curvy Agency, one of the leading plussize modelling agencies in Nigeria, the event is expected to bring together recognized talented and promising fashion designers brands and retail enterprises from within and outside Nigeria to showcase trends and products to the audience and fashion enthusiasts.
