Elders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba Central Senatorial District have called on a former deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Babangida Nguroje, to contest the Senate seat.
The elders also expressed confidence that the 2019 polls would be credible, adding that only popular candidates would emerge.
This endorsement was the highlight of a meeting held in Jalingo when the party faithful made their decision on the basis of what they described as part of efforts to place round pegs in round holes in other to guarantee quality representation.
The elders expressed confidence in Nguroje who is also the chairman of the governing board of the Nigerian Investment Promotion Council, (NIPC) as the right and proper person that has understood the yearnings and aspirations of his people.
Speaking on behalf of the elders, Alhaji Adamu Isa stressed that although Nguroje represented Kurmi/Gashaka/Sardauna Federal Constituency, his activities and gesture were extended to the local governments that make up Taraba Central.
