2015: Atiku declares for APC presidential ticket today

The formal declaration which will be done at the Yar’adua Centre in Abuja will mark the end of months of consultations by the former Vice President.
The APC Presidential aspirant had stated recently at an interactive media session at his residence in Abuja that he would formally declare his intention on November 24 (today).
“I will never be discouraged to contest because I have no other place than Nigeria. Being discouraged is like giving up on Nigeria which I will never do. Why should I give up on Nigeria, I will not give up until I can no longer do anything or lack the capacity to do it,” he said.
The former vice president had in the past contested the presidency against the late President Shehu Musa Yar’adua in 2007 and President Goodluck Jonathan in 2011.
With his declaration today, he will be the first presidential candidate of the APC to formally declare for the party’s presidential ticket whose primaries will hold on Thursday, December 2.
Other contenders for the presidential ticket of the party include former Head of State, General Muhammadu Buhari, governor of Kano State, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha.
