Chairman of the Joint Organising Committee of the tournament, Moses Essien made this known while briefing the Minister of Sports, Tammy Danagogo about the tournament in Abuja yesterday.
Essien also revealed that 109 resident Diplomatic Missions and all international organizations accredited to Nigeria will be part of the six-day event.
“…About 2000 sports men and women from different foreign missions and international organizations are ready to compete in a total of 21 events that will last for six days in the Abuja National Stadium.”
According to him, the tournament which will take place at both the Package A and B of the Abuja National Stadium will involve a wide range of indoor and outdoor sporting activities.
“The sports for which trophies, medals and other prizes shall be competed for include; football, golf, table tennis, tennis, badminton, squash, cricket, basketball, volleyball, baseball, boxing, tug of war, swimming, cycling, snooker, billiards, chess, monopoly, draughts and scrabble,” he said.
