Youths of Idunwin-Ehigie community and Hausa labourers clashed yesterday at Egba Junction on the Benin-Auchi Road over an argument.
It was gathered that two persons, identified as Osas and Hameed were injured.
It was also gathered that a mosque belonging to the Nasrul Lahi L Fatih Society Education Centre in the area was vandalised.
Daily Trust learnt that the Hausas boys involved in the attack were labourers looking for menial jobs.
Trouble was said to have started when Osas and other youths asked the Hausa labourers to leave the area.
When contacted, the spokesman of the state police command, Chidi Nwabuzor, confirmed the incident.
He said three persons had been arrested.
Meanwhile, the chairman of NAFSAT Benin branch, Dr Isiaka Mustapha, has decried the attack on the mosque, calling for the arrest of the perpetrators.
