Addressing newsmen in Awka yesterday, spokesman of the chairmen of the political parties, Prince Chuha Ikeagwu, said they support the decision of INEC to conduct supplementary elections in the affected areas because they want peace to reign in Anambra.
He said “despite all promises and genuine efforts made by INEC to conduct a free , fair, credible and acceptable election, we observed some lapses, but we understand that all human activities are not devoid of errors, mistakes and flaws, notwithstanding we have accepted the flaws and encourage all stakeholders especially INEC in ensuring better elections in future.”
Ikewagwu added that after a critical review, the parties have accepted to abide by all the results collated by INEC in the Anambra governorship election and backs INEC in its proposed supplementary elections for the conclusion of the governorship election, to enable the commission declare the result without further delay so that the state can move forward.
