13,000 youth compete for $20,000 in Maltavator 2

About 13, 000 youths have participated in the season two of the Pan African TV show, the Maltavator Challenge sponsored by Malta Guinness.

The train kicked off its tour of major Nigerian cities to scout for contestants of the show in October. It was in Ibadan, Benin, Enugu and Abuja where six finalists emerged while in Lagos during the week, another set of four finalists emerged from the contest.

Speaking at the event in Lagos, Brand Manager of Malta Guinness, Ifeoma Agu said no fewer than 20 contenders would be selected to go into a grand finale and also face physical and mental challenges for the organizers to choose the final six.

The final six would represent Team Nigeria in the Pan-African contest where the grand prize of $20,000 would be won.

Though 10,000 participants were expected, the turnout surpassed the expectation with over 13000 Nigerian youths participating in the games which comprise physical fitness and mental challenges such as puzzle game, treasure hunt, among others.

Agu said, “The idea behind it is that it is a platform that showcases young people who are fit, who are smart, who have the can do spirit, which is all the characters that Malta Guinness brings to bear.
