The Rivers State Police Command yesterday said that all the 11 passengers abducted by gunmen along Ndele-Elele road of East-West highway on Monday have regained their freedom.
The Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Nnamdi Omoni who confirmed this on a WhatsApp massage, said the passengers were rescued unhurt.
The bus was intercepted around 7pm along the Ndele-Elele area an hour into the trip but some of the passengers escaped.
A passenger who escaped, Mr Bright Welekwe, told reporters that after the bus was intercepted, the armed men ordered the passengers into bush.
He disclosed that after a long walk into the bush, he sneaked back to the road.
