1 killed, 5 injured as vehicles collide near Abaji

A middle-aged man was killed and five others sustained injuries after two vehicles collided at Manderegi Village near Abaji on the Abuja-Lokoja road.

A witness said the crash happened on Sunday, when a J5 bus with registration number KSF 295 XV lost control and rammed into a Volkswagen salon with registration number KWL 245 NJ.

He said the J5 had a burst tyre and that the driver lost control and collided with the Volkswagen which was coming from the Gwagwalada axis.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officials were called to the scene to evacuate the victims to the Abaji General Hospital.

A staff at the general hospital, who preferred anonymity, told our reporter that one of the victims was brought into the emergency ward lifeless, adding that the corpse had been deposited at the hospital’s morgue.
