A governorship aspirant in Enugu State on the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC), and former Attorney General of the State, Chief Ifeanyi Nwoga has said that the infrastructure deficit in the state was caused chiefly by “politics of dichotomy”.
He said the brand of politics was responsible for the State’s backwardness since the inception of democracy in 1999.
Addressing a crowd at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu on Saturday while declaring his intention to contest for the governorship of the state in 2019, Nwoga said that a situation in which people would claim that “it’s our turn to enjoy” once a particular individual is voted into Government House, Enugu would no longer be tolerated if he wins the governorship poll next year.
“If we take over, we will abolish the issue of dichotomy; all the three senatorial zones in the state will become real construction sites. What is being built at Nsukka will be reflected in Awgu, Nkanu, Oji River and the rest of the state. The idea of ‘it’s our turn to enjoy’ will no longer be tolerated,” Nwoga said.
He promised to introduce free education policy, saying “if APC takes over in 2019, the indigent students of Enugu State will enjoy free education at all levels."
