Saraki keeps mum after two-hour meeting with Obasanjo

Senate President, Bukola Saraki met with former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo behind-closed doors at his Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) on Monday.


Details of the about two-hour meeting was not made known to anxious newsmen, but, it might not be unconnected with the matters relating with the nation, particularly, the on-going imbroglio between the Executive and the country’s legislative arm.

It would be recalled the Senate President had last week, made similar crucial visit to the Minna country home of another former President, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida in Niger State.


Sources close to Obasanjo/Saraki parley, hinted that larger part of time was used in conducting round the Senate President inside the new Presidential Library.

"The meeting was not that time consuming, but, the tour of the Library. In fact only 10 per cent of the tour could be done. For the meeting proper, only the duo met and it was brief."

Saraki who came out from the Library entrance section to the waiting hands of newshounds, further confirmed that the visit was to come over to see the Library.

He told journalists that, he was on a visit to the  Presidential Library, because he missed the commissioning of the edifice last year.

On his assessment of the library, Saraki says " it’s a worthy project."
