The State Police Commissioner Mr Austine Iwar who spoke during a tour of markets, including the Tsohon Kasuwa (Gombe Old Market) which was destroyed by fire last Tuesday, said that as part of the measures, the Police would be collaborating with the leadership of market traders to provide adequate security. Highlighting some other measures, Iwar said the police would train market guards on fire detection and control and would make fire extinguishers mandatory for every shop to ensure prompt response to fire incidents.
