The Niger State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has condoled the family, people and government of Niger state over the death of a former governor of the state, Engr. Abdulkadir Abdullahi Kure who died 8th January 2016 in a German Hospital.
A condolence message signed by the Chairman of the Union Muhammed Muhammed and the Secretary Abu Nmodu, stated that the death of the former governor came as a shock to the members of the union who would always remember him as a natural friend of journalists and the media.
“His name is in gold for posterity to remember him as simple, easygoing, firm, fair, just and God-fearing leader,” the statement said.
In his own statement, a former governor of Edo State, Chief Lucky Igbinedion described the late ex-governor of Niger State as an upright person whose unflinching belief in nation-building helped in sustaining democracy in the country.
He said as a two-term governor of Niger state, Engr. Kure made enormous sacrifices in redirecting Niger state on the path of progress.
