A man and his girlfriend have been arrested by the Police, as he allegedly attempted to sell his sister’s three-year-old son.
Daily Trust gathered that the suspects Emeka Odili and his girlfriend, Blessing (surname unknown) took the three-year-old to Onitsha in Anambra state for sale, but that they were arrested and the victim recovered last weekend.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Celestina Kalu, the suspects had been into child trafficking before the latest bid. “Preliminary inquiries revealed that the suspects had once sold their own biological child,” Kalu stated.
Kalus said Police detectives swung into action when the mother of the victim, Nkiru Odili of Omelugoma, Asaba reported at Onicha-Olona Police station that her brother came and took away her son.
