Kwara passes Not Too Young to Run Bill, others

The Kwara State House of Assembly has passed 11 constitutional bills, including  the Not Too Young to Run Bill transmitted to it by the National Assembly in the on-going constitutional amendment process.

The Kwara legislature, however deferred passage of four remaining bills until public hearings were conducted by the house to have input from stakeholders.

The bills passed by the legislature were  financial autonomy for the state legislature, legislative immunity for things said on the floor during plenary, power of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct by-election  and critical amendment to facilitate fast dispensation of cases at the Supreme Court of Nigeria and other courts.
