The ongoing tussle between the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and the National Environmental Standards Regulatory and Enforcement Agency (NESREA) is as a result of misunderstanding of the rules and regulations guiding the telecommunications industry by the later, the Executive Vice Chairman of the NCC, Dr. Eugene Juwah, said.

NCC and NESREA last week clashed over a base station in Abuja. NESREA sealed the station for violating environmental regulation but the officials of the NCC unsealed it.

Juwah who was explaining the incident to the members of the House of Representatives Committee on Communications on Wednesday, said NESREA did not conduct right measurement before it took the action.

He said NCC regulation says you measure from the foot of the tower to the residential building.
