KNSG to convert abandoned hospital to nursing school

The N2.3billion 120-bed space paediatric (Referral) hospital in Kano State been abandoned for over three years will be converted into a nursing school, the state Governor, Engineer Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has said.

Weekly Trust reports that the project which was initiated by the immediate past administration in the state was abandoned after about 90 percent completion.
Speaking when he received chairman and members of the Governing Council of the Northwest University, Kano in his office, Kwankwaso said the aim was to have as many nurses for government hospitals as possible, lamenting that at the moment, public hospitals in Kano are suffering from dearth of paramedical personnel.
He assured that the state government is poised to reverse the trend through the establishment of schools of nursing and midwifery at Madobi, Bebeji and Gezawa, in addition to the existing ones in the state.
