Jonathan appoints VCs, registrars of three new federal varsities

President Goodluck Jonathan has approved the appointment of Vice Chancellors and Registrars for the three newly established federal universities in Kebbi, Yobe and Zamfara states.
Minister of Education, Prof. Ruqayyatu Ahmed Rufa’i who conveyed the President’s approval yesterday said the new Vice Chancellors are Professor Shehu AbdulRahman, Federal University Gashua, Professor Lawal Suleiman Bilbis Federal University Birnin Kebbi and Professor Ben Chuks Okeke Federal University Gusau.
The Minister said the President also approved the appointment of Professor Isaac Asuzu to replace Prof. Chinedu Nebo the new Minister of Power as Vice Chancellor Federal University Oye-Ekiti. Rufa’I said the Registrars for the new universities are Sule Dauda Federal University Gashua, Ibrahim Mungadi Federal University Birnin Kebbi and Ibrahim Bawa Kaura Federal University Gusau.
The new Vice Chancellors and Registrars are expected to report for briefing at the Federal Ministry of Education Abuja on Friday February 22, 2013. All appointments of the Vice Chancellors and the Registrars take immediate effect.
