Proprietor of Future Africa Football Academy and the Katsina State Government have agreed to partner for the purpose of providing the needed exposure to players and officials of the Katsina State-owned football outfit Sportlite FC for the challenges of the ongoing Nigerian National League season.
This was after Future Africa Academy defeated Sportlite FC in a friendly duel, with delectable football display.
The friendly duel was meant to test the tactical and mental resolve of the academy lads who are being moulded preparatory to their participation in the Katsina state FA Cup later in the year.
The game ended 2-1 in favour of the academy, and the depth, character and resilience of the academy lads impressed spectators who wondered what magic had been done within two months of its existence to produce the quality and flair exhibited by the team.
The Academy FC also last weekend trounced Katsina Governor’s Cup Runners-up Kurfi FC 6-0 just days after beating Sokoto United 3-0.
Following the splendid performance of the Academy, officials of the Katsina state government were said to have approached the proprietor to seek what assistance he would need from the state government for the team, but he declined.
But Kurfi turned down the offer, and instead told the officials that it was Sportlite that needed help and pledged to assist the national professional league division one team by exposing them to international friendly games.
He promised to sustain the quest to raise an academy that would be difficult to defeat by other academies in the continent.
