Erico, Chukwu predict good outing for Eagles in South Africa

Former Nigerian international Joe Erico has predicted that the Super Eagles will put up an excellent outing at the forthcoming Africa Cup of Nations tournament holding in South Africa.

The Nigerian team left their camp in Faro, Portugal yesterday to South Africa ahead of their participation at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, which kicks off on Saturday.

According to the former Nigerian goalkeeper, Coach Keshi and his team had a good time while preparing for the African championship in Faro, adding that with the camping over now, all eyes are on the Eagles to make the nation proud in South Africa.

“I think they had a good time in Faro and I’m pleased with the series of friendly matches they played. The victories they had over Rotterdam and Farense would be good motivations that would spur them to more victories at the Nations Cup,” said the former Eagles goalkeeper trainer.

While wishing the Eagles a good outing at the Nations Cup as they hit South Africa today, Raphael Ndukwe Chukwu, an ex-Eagle, who plays at the 2000 Africa Cup of Nations, said that Keshi’s team are in good shape ready for the championship.

“In my own assessment of the Eagles, I think the more they play, the more they get better. This is a plus to the team. I can only wish them well in their outing at the Nations Cup,” said the former Enyimba, Udoji United and 3SC, who now plays for Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa
