Bamanga: Food security key to peace, unity

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democ-ratic Party, PDP, Dr. Bamanga Turkur has des-cribed food security as a fundamental factor to peace and unity in Nigeria.
Bamanga who spoke yesterday when Governor Elechi paid a courtesy visit to the National Secretariat of the Party said: “Food security is fundamental to a peaceful and united Nigeria. It is for this reason that the founding fathers of our great party anchored the prosperity of our dear nation on the full exploitation of our vast agricultural potentials so that we can sufficiently feed our people as well having enough for export.”
He commended the governor for his invest-ment in agriculture saying: “Your vote for mas-sive agricultural development in Ebonyi state is an issue at the heart of the manifesto of our great Party while the gains you have so far recorded are proof to the efficacy of our party’s objectives in agriculture.
“It is also clear evidence that our party and its manifesto are alive in your state.”
The Ebony State Governor, Chief Elechi commended Bamanga and other members of the National Working Committee for holding high, the core vision of the Party despite minor disagreements on issues.
He further informed the Party of three new high capacity rice mills his administration established in the three senatorial zones of the State and restated his determination to fully tap the agricultural endowments that abound in Ebonyi.
