Nigeria completes Mali deployment

The Defence Headquarters Abuja yesterday said it has completed troops deployment to the African-led International Assistance Mission in Mali (AFISMA).
The Air force C-130 aircraft yesterday airlifted the last company of soldiers to Mali while the British transport plane conveyed equipment for the troops.
Director of Defence Information Colonel Mohammed Yerima said a total of over 1,200 officers and men have so far been deployed.
 “The last batch comprising of 162 troops will be airlifted today (yesterday) by the Air force while the Charlie (C-130) aircraft provided by the British government will equally airlift support equipment to the operation side by side with our own C-130,” he said.
