Former Secretary to the Government of Bauchi State Alhaji Muhammadu Nadada Umar has decamped from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressive Congress (APC). Umar was the SSG in Bauchi state during the administration of Ahmadu Adamu Mu'azu who is now the national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). One time House of Representative member Alhaji Awwalu Gwadabe also joined the APC from PDP on Wednesday. Former Deputy Governor of the State Alhaji Garba Muhammad Gadi announced their defection in Bauchi, during the visit of the President Elect General Muhammadu Buhari. He described their defection as a well come development and appealled to the people of the state to vote for APC candidates. State Chairman of the APC Alhaji Ahmed Uba Nana assured the president elect that the people will continue to vote for APC and will support his government at all levels. Among the personalities that accompanied the President- elect were the National Chairman of APC John Oyegun, former Chief of Army Staff, Abdulrahaman Dambazau, former Military Governor of Kaduna state Col. Lawal Jaafaru Isa, Bauchi South Senator Elect Malam Ali Wakili, Alhaji Nadada Umar who was a PDP gubernatorial candidate in 2007 and former Director General of the Small and Medium Enterprises Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), former House of Representatives member Alhaji Auwalu Gwadabe among others.
