Police arrest suspected killers of Mopol commander

The Kano State Police Command on Tuesday said it has made some arrests in connection to the killing of a Mopol commander, SP Dahiru Musa Majia, in the state on Monday night.
Addressing a press conference, the state police commissioner, Alhaji Musa Daura, said policemen were deployed to the area immediately after the attack, adding “as a result of which some suspects were arrested.”
The commissioner, who did not give the number of those suspects, said they were undergoing investigation and screening.
Explaining how the incident occurred, the police boss said the slain officer was returning home from office at about 2000hrs, when unknown gunmen ambushed him.
“The assailants opened fire sporadically on the officer killing him instantly. The command will thoroughly investigate the matter to its logical conclusion with a view to fish out the perpetrators of this dastardly act. We further urge members of the public to continue cooperating with the command in its battle against terrorism and criminal activities by providing relevant and timely information,” he said.
