Rainstorm victims in Kwara get relief materials

The Kwara State government has commenced distribution of relief materials to 1, 907 victims of last week’s rainstorm in the state.
It would be recalled that the first major rainfall experienced in the state in 2013 blew off rooftops of several buildings in Ilorin, the state capital rendering many residents homeless.
The distribution of the relief materials worth N11million, according to Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed’s Special Adviser on Emergency and Relief Services, Alhaji Musa Abdullahi, followed an assessment of damaged structures by the state emergency committee.
The items distributed include; roofing sheets, nails, mattresses and blankets. The governor’s aide said the items would go a long way in relieving the victims and cushioning the effect of the disaster.
